Medic and Casualty during D-Day Invasion (1944)

An original printing of a US Signal Corps image taken during the landing on the beach of Normandy. It depicts a Medic affixing identification information on a fallen soldier's uniform.

This image serves as a stark reminder of the cost paid to liberate much of Europe from Nazi rule.

Print is on 8x10" photographic paper. It has many small signs of it's age, including minor warping and edge/corner wear. The periphery of the printed area is minorly affected, but the image at large remains very clear. There is one editorial notation in the margin.
