This collection was curated from our archive thanks to the artistic way it provides insight into the history of weather science, with some examples being almost a century old. These photo are exposed and printed with great clarity.
Collection includes:
- Large weather balloon release in Manchester, New Hampshire. 1957. Great condition, small corner crease in bottom right. 6.5 x 8.5"
- Heston Airodome opening in England. 1931. Good condition with wear around edges. 7.25 x 9.5"
- Weather balloon launch. 1940. Good condition with wear around edges. 9.5 x 7.75"
- Frank R. Castleman with anemometer. 1929. Excellent condition save corner tear and crease at bottom corners. 9.5 x 7.25"
- Filling a radio weather balloon. Stamped USDA Rothstein. 1940. Good condition with corner creases, and crazing visible under certain light.
- Periodometer designed by Dr. C. G. Abbot, Smithsonian. 1932. Excellent condition aside from small tear in bottom left. 9.75 x 7.75"
