Wounded Pacific Theater Soldier (1943)
Wounded Pacific Theater Soldier (1943)
A compelling photo of an American serviceman (Lt. Thomas E. Bennett) and his companions as he is evacuated from the fighting on Rendova Island. Bennett, wounded in the knee, was forced by his companions to remove himself from combat.
Honest expressions are borne by all subjects; this photo is an excellent insight into the both the trials and comradery often found in war.
Print is on 7x9" paper and in ok condition for its age, with corner/edge wear, and a small surface defect (~1mm) in the foliage area of print.
